B.C.G.B.A. International Competition
The proposed venue of the Isle of Man for the Internationals 1998 was changed to Rylands Recreation Club, Gorsey Lane, Warrington.

Wednesday, 1st. July, 1998

Jean Isherwood Veterans Merit. Start time 10.00a.m.
Finals Day, played at the Raikes Hall Hotel, Blackpool, with a first prize of £400.00 and entry to the Champion of Champions for the winner. All games 21 up, off 5, except last year's winner and runner-up who play off 3 and 4 respectively.
Entry to this Competition is via your County Association, entry fee £2.00.
Open to Ladies who have attained the age of 60 years and Gents who have attained the age of 63 years on the date of the County qualifying competition. The B.C.G.B.A. is grateful to Jack Isherwood for his continuing sponsorship of this event.
Free admission for spectators.

Veterans County Championship
Played at the Severnside Complex, Shrewsbury, this Competition is for 8-a-side teams with the preliminaries being run on a round robin basis to determine the Semi-finalists.

Saturday, 1st. August, 1998

83rd. British Crown Green Individual Merit. Start time 10.00a.m.
This event, hosted this year by the North Lancs & Fylde C.B.A., is sponsored by RILEY Greenmaster ®, and DENNIS Mowers. 64 qualifiers from the County Bowling Associations played at Victoria Park, Nelson for the title.

32 Junior County qualifiers contested the championship, sponsored by RILEY Greenmaster ®. Hosted by the Yorkshire County Bowling Association, the venue this year was the Waterloo Subscripion Bowling Club, Wakefield Road, Huddersfield.

British Club Championship. Start time 9.30a.m.
Sponsored by Sutton Winson Insurance Brokers and hosted by North Lancs & Fylde, this event was held at Centre Vale Park, Todmorden. There were 16 County Championship Teams in action.
