General Information

Note: At the B.C.G.B.A. Rules Revision meeting of January 15th., 2000, the start time of the Martell Cognac Senior County Championship matches was changed to be 2.00p.m.

The age cut-off date for entry into the Jack & Jean Isherwood Veterans Competition was changed to be January 1st. of the year of the Competition.

Sunday, 30th. April, 2000
The 1999 British Club Championship - Start time 9.30a.m.
Due to tragic circumstances, this event was called off last year. The competition was re-scheduled for today, and will be played at the Rylands Recreation Club, Gorsey Lane, Warrington.

Jack & Jean Isherwood Veterans Merit. Start time 10.00a.m.
Finals Day, to be played at East Parade, Rhyl, Wales. All games 21 up, off 5. Handicapping of the previous year's winner & runner-up has been done away with, but any 'homesters' will still have a plus 3 handicap.

Drakes Pride Junior County 2000 Championship. Venues, Championship table and today's results.

Thursday, 13th. July, 2000
Martell Cognac Veteran's County Championship
16 8-a-side teams from around the Counties will be playing at Centre Vale Park, Todmorden. A round robin competition in four groups of four in the first instance, the winner of each group going through to the Semi-finals.

A Millennium Invitation 32 competition at Michelin B.C., Campbell Road, Stoke-on-Trent.
Commencing at 10.00a.m., this competition brings together 32 past winners of the B.C.G.B.A. Senior & Junior Merit Competitions. The results for this are now on the Millennium 2000 page.

85th. All-Britain Crown Green Individual Merit. Start time 10.00a.m.
This event, sponsored by RILEY Greenmaster ®, is this year hosted by the Potteries & District C.B.A. 64 qualifiers from the County Bowling Associations will come together at the Florence Tennis & Bowling Club, Cemetery Ave., Dresden Stoke-on-Trent, to compete in one of the premier individual competitions of the B.C.G.B.A. calendar.
Admission is £4.00, with a further £3.00 for reserved seats. Applications (reserved seats only) with S.A.E. and cheques made payable to B.C.G.B.A. should be sent the Chief Executive, John Crowther.

All-Britain Junior Merit. Start time 10.00a.m.
This year, Wales C.B.A. will be hosting the competition, sponsored by RPG Consulting.
The venue is Colwyn Bay R.B.L., when 32 Junior County qualifiers will be contesting the championship.
Admission is £1.50p and refreshments will be available.

All-Britain Arthur Johnson Memorial Mens Pairs. Start time 10.00a.m.
This Grand Finals day will have 64 pairs playing for the title at Pilkington Recreation B.C., Kirk Sandall, Doncaster.

B.C.G.B.A. Champion of Champions. Start time 10.00a.m.
Held at the Waterloo Hotel, Blackpool, admission £5.00. Applications with S.A.E. to either the BRITISH CROWN GREEN CHIEF EXECUTIVE, or THE BOWLING MANAGER, Waterloo Hotel, Blackpool, or in person on the day at the Waterloo Hotel.

British Club Championship. Start time 9.30a.m.
Sponsored by Sutton Winson Insurance Brokers, and played at Severnside, Shrewsbury, there will be 16 County Championship Teams in action.
PLEASE NOTE - This event has been re-scheduled, and will now be played on Sunday 29th. April, 2001 at the same venue.
